This means they can be pre-connected to the AED, saving valuable time in the event of an emergency. The electrodes are very easy to replace by simply plugging the pre-connected connector into the AED. The electrodes can be stored in a designated compartment in the AED's lid.
Shelf life of MR62 pads
Electrodes have an expiration date due to the conductive gel, which can dry out. They should not be used after the expiration date. Therefore, always ensure you have an unopened set of electrodes connected that have not yet expired. The MR62 pads have a shelf life of approximately 4 years. The expiration date can be found on a sticker on the electrode packaging.
Pediatric use:
The Mindray BeneHeart C-series adult electrodes can also be used for children using the child button on the AED. Switching the AED to child mode will immediately reduce energy.
