MELAdoc labels are double-sided adhesive: after sterilization, clean packages with sterilized instruments are marked by affixing a label indicating approval for use.
After using the instruments, the MELAdoc label can be removed from the sterilized packaging and attached to the patient file.
The sterilization date, lot number, the person giving the approval, the sterilizer used and the expiration date can thus be easily assigned to the sterilized instruments and to the patient
